Man-made earthquakes in Iceland

*This was on LOP, found this extremely interesting!*

Two human-induced spates of earthquakes took place in South Iceland on Sunday/Monday night and morning which have been traced to Reykjavik Energy’s activities in the area.

The first series of quakes lasted from 02.00 until 03.30 and the second, bigger spate from 05.30 to 06.00.

Both series were made up of a large number of individual earthquakes; none of which were felt in towns. The quakes took place in the Hengill area north of Hellisheidi and south of Thingvellir.

I was curious IF you many of you are aware of this situation occurring around Greers Ferry Lake. I am concerned because our water is supplied by this Lake and even though the permit claims the company will NOT pollute the surrounding areas, we NOW know from experiences in all of the OTHER areas of the State where Fracking is happening , this is VERY UNTRUE! Pollution WILL OCCUR and we will SUFFER because of it! I want the PUBLIC to be aware of what is about to happen to this beautiful Arkansas Lake. Greers Ferry Lake provides water to many communities South of Heber springs, Arkansas. The toxic chemicals being used in the Fracking of Natural Gas are know to cause a wide array of serious health disorders and will not only effect the fish and marine life of Greers Ferry, But also families like yours and mine. PLEASE write your Lawmakers and ask them to HELP Arkansans hold the Gas and Oil Companies accountable by requiring stricter regulations of the chemicals used. There are MANY rural Arkansans whose ONLY source of water is from personal wells and they are being contaminated by the toxic chemicals used in the fracking process. Most of these people are of lower socio-economic class and are unable to purchase filtration systems to make their water SAFE. The companies responsible for the pollution should be made to provide these people with adequate filtration systems and repair damage to the wells caused by the Fracking process. PLEASE HELP US ENSURE SAFE WATER IS NEVER a LUXURY in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!

*SIGH…saw this on the news the other night. GET THE WORD OUT!!*

Apparently the Secretary of the Army and the Corps of Engineers have
decided that gas revenues from drilling UNDER Greers Ferry Lake are
more important than protecting the water quality and natural shoreline
of Greers Ferry Lake. License No. DACW03-3-10-3297 was issued to
Chesapeake Energy Corporation to allow extensive “use and occupation of
the premises” from October 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011. No public
hearings were held, no public input requested, no public notification of
proposed licensing for in lake survey or drilling under the lake was
given. This is public property. Mineral rights (gas extraction)
permits would be, or have been, issued by the US Bureau of Land
Management Field Office in Jackson, Mississippi. So far, no response
has been obtained from John Dykes at that office. His phone number is

30 foot boats will be used to shoot 2000 psi air blasts into the water
for sensor recordings to be taken to determine potential gas well
drilling locations. Arkansas Game and Fish Commission representatives
will be present to determine harmful effects (turbidity, fish kill? etc)
and are authorized to halt the operations if damages are deemed
excessive. The AR Game & Fish Commission will build seven courtesy
docks to accommodate the seismographic survey boats. The docks are to
be accepted in lieu of a $42,250 easement payment. Construction of the
docks was to have been completed by January 31, 2011.

Fracked in Arkansas

Yesterday, JM and I decided to visit Greenbrier, Arkansas and its environs, to see if we could feel anything related to the earthquakes. We sure did, and we saw some fairly interesting things. Before going to the coordinates of the 2.7 EQ that occurred in the afternoon, we stopped in a field. There was a lot of activity in the field…birds going nuts, insects, etc. EMF detector was showing magnetic activity, albeit slight.

We used the GPS on JM’s droid to find the location of the 2.7 EQ, which is also the same coordinates as the majority of the earthquakes.  As we were looking, we found signs of oil wells.

There are a couple of swarms occurring in Arkansas. The first swarm is in Guy. Now we have one in Greenbrier. The swarm in Guy is happening very close to oil wells. Now we have evidence that the Greenbrier quakes are near oil wells, also.

There are many resources online about hydraulic fracturing. I suggest you look them up for yourself to learn about the procedures. Many of the residents of Greenbrier and Guy suspect that this, AKA fracking, is responsible for these earthquakes.

The first thing we noticed on route 282 was a sign for Nomac Drilling Rig 52. Nomac is a subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy, the company doing the majority of the fracking.

I do not care much for coincidences. There are several rigs in the vicinity of these earthquakes. Obviously, from what we saw, people are leasing their land to these companies.

Near one of the rigs, there was a pond of some kind. The water was being siphoned with a pipe to the rig. The water is dissipating rapidly, and there was some sort of black material, like sludge, that did not look natural to the water. This was disgusting. There was an animal nearby that was screaming out in pain. I cannot convey the kind of suffering this animal was going through. It was torture to hear. The animal was in a field nearby.

We wanted to get pictures and video of everything, so we tried to get close to the signs. We were being watched very carefully. There was a man in a pickup truck with the lights on, almost warning us to not get close.

I am putting up pictures of the signs and the water with the pipe. I will upload the videos I have to youtube shortly.

We stopped at a pizza restaurant in Greenbrier proper for food…Joe’s pizza. As we were sitting there, another earthquake occurred. I cannot help but laugh because this earthquake, that everyone in the restaurant felt, was not registered on the USGS site. This happened around 6:45 PM.

Let it be known that Loren Hitchcock is the new director of the Arkansas Fish and Game. This is the individual that takes care of the bird and fish death investigations. He is wrapped up with Chesapeake Energy. Check this out:

In a previous position, Hitchcock led negotiations in which the agency reached a contract with Chesapeake Energy Corp. for natural gas rights on commission land. The deal brought $32 million to the agency, with royalties to follow. The natural gas agreement was the focus of a lawsuit that claimed the proceeds should have gone to state general revenue, not to Game and Fish coffers. The suit was dismissed but is under appeal.

Hitchcock also led the negotiation of the commission’s acquisition of a 16,000-acre conservation easement at Moro Big Pine Natural Area Wildlife Management Area.

STOP THE FRACKING IN ARKANSAS!!! JM and I are fairly convinced that this is why we are getting these earthquakes. Money, greed, idiocy…as I write this, the earthquakes continue. Why is nothing being done? Does anybody care? Chesapeake, go to hell.

Small quake swarm in Arkansas

Okay, not feeling this thankfully but there have been quite a few in the past 24 hours. This is centered in Greenbrier, which is about 35 miles north of North Little Rock, AR. I do not believe these are related to the quakes in Guy, AR.
