Hey, y’all…

Moving. Will not be online until sometime next week. I must admit, I am a bit nervous. I have been a city-dweller for a long time, so I am getting thrown into a new situation that I have not been in since I was a child. Okay, not a bit nervous, VERY nervous. I haven’t spoken French in a bit, either, so this will be different. I will issue my scathing essay on life in Mississauga when I get back online.

Hopefully, nothing earth shattering happens…;)

Five people injured in Ontario school stabbing

Five people have been injured in a knife fight that took place at a Mississauga high school Wednesday morning.

Two male students have been rushed to Credit Valley Hospital with “severe” stab wounds, according to Brad Bowie with Peel EMS.

A female teacher at St. Joseph’s Secondary School was among the injured. She suffered minor injuries when she tried to break up the fight and was not transported to hospital.

Bowie said he does not know the condition of the other two students who were injured in the melee.

Police in Peel region were called to the school, located on Creditview Road near Eglinton Avenue, just before 8:30 a.m.

Two people have been taken in for questioning but it is unclear if they are students at the school.

The school was put under lockdown for about an hour. Administrators are now sending students home and closing the school for the day as a result of the police investigation.

Even more misery in Mississauga…

Hmm….if I were in Saudi Arabia, wonder if they would be this accommodating?

Meh…probably not. This is in a very busy mall in the Toronto area. This is just insane.

For the initiated, this is their information…

Description:
Full hair and esthetic services. Registered massage therapist. We do proms, weddings, hair extensions, corrective coloring, spiral perms, and beauty products.

Phone:
905-566-7788

This truly disgusts me.

Hijab!

Hijab!

Malls bring out the worst in me.

I am hereby resigned to the fact that nobody can tolerate me, and I cannot seem to tolerate others.

People are so inane and I am far too deep.

I wonder where home is? Not this planet, I presume.

I despise the mall. I had to go there today. I promise the world I will avoid this like the plague in the future.

I guess I have a social problem, eh?

Being in Montreal…

Reminds me of how totally bland Mississauga is, or even the GTA. Today, we ate at a wonderful place on Laurier called Bella Pizza. OMG, wonderful pizza, fries, vegetarian food. The food is so damn bland in Miserysauga, I wonder how people can handle it. Chains as far as the eye can see…Port Credit is all right, but the rest…ugh.

I love Quebec. Once you have lived here, you don’t really want to be anywhere else. Nice to be with my friends again :)

Had a nice conversation with my favorite philosopher type, talking of lower vibrations and gnosticism and such…it was so wonderful to see him again!!!!!

Murder in Mississauga

*Gee, another one! Guess I wouldn’t qualify for a position with the chamber of commerce, eh? lol…*

A 57-year-old woman was found slain in her Mississauga home Sunday morning and her husband, a recently retired police officer, was taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries.

Peel police confirm the death is the region’s record-setting 25th homicide of the year and said they are not actively searching for suspects.

But they released few other details about the killing, which appears to be a domestic-related incident.

Police said officers responded to the couple’s house on Carigar Ct., near Rathburn and Cawthra Rds. — around 7:50 a.m. and found the lifeless body of a woman.

Her husband was whisked away to hospital.

Police have not yet identified the couple, saying officers are still trying to notify family members.

However, friends and neighbours said a man and his wife had lived in the house for about 27 years.

“They’re a great couple,” said a distraught man, who has known the couple for 30 years and stopped by the scene after learning the horrific news.

He said the injured man retired from the Toronto Police Service a few months ago after a lengthy career on the force.

The long-time friend said the dead woman was a real estate broker.

The street was cordoned off as forensics officers gathered evidence and the coroner arrived early in the afternoon to remove the dead body from the home.

Mississauga high school on lockdown

Mississauga’s Lincoln Alexander Secondary School is in lockdown today after a staff member spotted a youth inside the school carrying a handgun.

Peel police said two youths who fled the school were arrested at a nearby shopping centre.

“A weapon has not yet been recovered,” said Const. J. P. Valade.

A police tactical team and other officers were searching classrooms and areas outside the school for the handgun, police said.

Students were being walked across the street to the Malton Community Centre, one class at a time, as the search continues.

Valade said nobody was injured and that the school, on Morning Star Dr. northeast of Pearson airport, would remain in lockdown until further notice.

Brian Woodland of the Peel District School Board said as a precautionary measure, three elementary schools in the area have also been “secured.”

He said the doors of those schools remain locked, but students were free to move around within the buildings.

The SPELLING nazi strikes in Mississauga!

I am getting a little fed up. There are so many signs in the Mississauga area that are not in English, or in incorrect English. Nothing infuriates me more than this kind of situation. We are in a nation with two official languages, English and French. At least try to get the damn signs and advertisements right! They are going about this correctly in Quebec. They have language police going around looking at signs! Dammit, we should have this! Observe a few of the signs in the downtown area, on Dundas and Hurontario…
