More than 2 dozen earthquakes rumble through Arkansas in the past week

*Feeling “off”. The energy is wacky. For the time being, I opt to stick around the house. I am certainly not feeling any of these EQs, but I do find it interesting.*

The area north of Morrilton is one of four spots hit by quakes in recent days. Earthquakes have also shaken areas south of Clinton, east of Cave City and near Blytheville.

Scott Ausbrooks of the Arkansas Geological Survey says he believes the quakes east of Cave City and near Blytheville occurred naturally.

But officials aren’t sure what is causing the temblors in the other two areas.

Man-made earthquakes in Iceland

*This was on LOP, found this extremely interesting!*

Two human-induced spates of earthquakes took place in South Iceland on Sunday/Monday night and morning which have been traced to Reykjavik Energy’s activities in the area.

The first series of quakes lasted from 02.00 until 03.30 and the second, bigger spate from 05.30 to 06.00.

Both series were made up of a large number of individual earthquakes; none of which were felt in towns. The quakes took place in the Hengill area north of Hellisheidi and south of Thingvellir.

Fracked in Arkansas

Yesterday, JM and I decided to visit Greenbrier, Arkansas and its environs, to see if we could feel anything related to the earthquakes. We sure did, and we saw some fairly interesting things. Before going to the coordinates of the 2.7 EQ that occurred in the afternoon, we stopped in a field. There was a lot of activity in the field…birds going nuts, insects, etc. EMF detector was showing magnetic activity, albeit slight.

We used the GPS on JM’s droid to find the location of the 2.7 EQ, which is also the same coordinates as the majority of the earthquakes.  As we were looking, we found signs of oil wells.

There are a couple of swarms occurring in Arkansas. The first swarm is in Guy. Now we have one in Greenbrier. The swarm in Guy is happening very close to oil wells. Now we have evidence that the Greenbrier quakes are near oil wells, also.

There are many resources online about hydraulic fracturing. I suggest you look them up for yourself to learn about the procedures. Many of the residents of Greenbrier and Guy suspect that this, AKA fracking, is responsible for these earthquakes.

The first thing we noticed on route 282 was a sign for Nomac Drilling Rig 52. Nomac is a subsidiary of Chesapeake Energy, the company doing the majority of the fracking.

I do not care much for coincidences. There are several rigs in the vicinity of these earthquakes. Obviously, from what we saw, people are leasing their land to these companies.

Near one of the rigs, there was a pond of some kind. The water was being siphoned with a pipe to the rig. The water is dissipating rapidly, and there was some sort of black material, like sludge, that did not look natural to the water. This was disgusting. There was an animal nearby that was screaming out in pain. I cannot convey the kind of suffering this animal was going through. It was torture to hear. The animal was in a field nearby.

We wanted to get pictures and video of everything, so we tried to get close to the signs. We were being watched very carefully. There was a man in a pickup truck with the lights on, almost warning us to not get close.

I am putting up pictures of the signs and the water with the pipe. I will upload the videos I have to youtube shortly.

We stopped at a pizza restaurant in Greenbrier proper for food…Joe’s pizza. As we were sitting there, another earthquake occurred. I cannot help but laugh because this earthquake, that everyone in the restaurant felt, was not registered on the USGS site. This happened around 6:45 PM.

Let it be known that Loren Hitchcock is the new director of the Arkansas Fish and Game. This is the individual that takes care of the bird and fish death investigations. He is wrapped up with Chesapeake Energy. Check this out:

In a previous position, Hitchcock led negotiations in which the agency reached a contract with Chesapeake Energy Corp. for natural gas rights on commission land. The deal brought $32 million to the agency, with royalties to follow. The natural gas agreement was the focus of a lawsuit that claimed the proceeds should have gone to state general revenue, not to Game and Fish coffers. The suit was dismissed but is under appeal.

Hitchcock also led the negotiation of the commission’s acquisition of a 16,000-acre conservation easement at Moro Big Pine Natural Area Wildlife Management Area.

STOP THE FRACKING IN ARKANSAS!!! JM and I are fairly convinced that this is why we are getting these earthquakes. Money, greed, idiocy…as I write this, the earthquakes continue. Why is nothing being done? Does anybody care? Chesapeake, go to hell.

2010′s world gone wild: Quakes, floods, blizzards

A most curious article, in my opinion. I did not really stop to think about it, but yes, it was an interesting year.

Some highlights:

Earthquakes, heat waves, floods, volcanoes, super typhoons, blizzards, landslides and droughts killed at least a quarter million people in 2010 – the deadliest year in more than a generation. More people were killed worldwide by natural disasters this year than have been killed in terrorism attacks in the past 40 years combined.

“The term ’100-year event’ really lost its meaning this year.”

In the summer, one weather system caused oppressive heat in Russia, while farther south it caused flooding in Pakistan that inundated 62,000 square miles, about the size of Wisconsin. That single heat-and-storm system killed almost 17,000 people, more people than all the worldwide airplane crashes in the past 15 years combined.

Through Nov. 30, nearly 260,000 people died in natural disasters in 2010, compared to 15,000 in 2009, according to Swiss Re. The World Health Organization, which hasn’t updated its figures past Sept. 30, is just shy of 250,000. By comparison, deaths from terrorism from 1968 to 2009 were less than 115,000, according to reports by the U.S. State Department and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

The last year in which natural disasters were this deadly was 1983 because of an Ethiopian drought and famine, according to WHO. Swiss Re calls it the deadliest since 1976.

Yup, 2010 was not a good year. BRING ON 2012!!

Infrasound and human behavior-feelings

Tethys from Lunatic Outpost brought this to my attention months ago, and I do believe it is a valid theory. Some of us get these terrible feelings of something bad happening…we feel like there is a shoe that is going to drop.

There could be an answer to this, not entirely mundane as one might think. Actually, it is quite interesting.

It is called infrasound. It is a sound, a feeling that many animals get, thus the animals being able to predict and behave differently prior to an earthquake or storm. This is something that can be heard by animals, but more importantly, it is FELT.

Infrasound can be generated by earthquakes, tectonics, volcanoes, storms, surf, avalanches, icebergs, aurora, upper-atmosphere lightning…the list goes on and on. Elephants and whales are known to utilize infrasound to communicate over large distances with one another.

So, the question in my mind becomes…if the animals can feel this way, can humanity? Some of us are more perceptive than others, and can feel changes within the earth. Is this the result of infrasound?

There have been experiments on humans using infrasound. The subjects reported feeling a sense of dread, anxiety, uneasiness, extreme sorrow, ear ringing, and fear.

Perhaps some of us can feel this better than others, some are more in tune with this feeling?

Can you imagine what would happen if the government was employing this as a weapon, to torture those that can feel this? It might not be beyond the realm of possibility. Perhaps by utilizing a HAARP-like technology, TPTB can control those that are known to be more feeling than others.

Some people report feeling these effects while observing UFOs; what if this is also employed against those observing the UFOs?

Even musicians are using it in some songs. Here is an example on youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27OAjOaSwws

Beware, for those that can “feel” it can be torture.

I don’t think it is too far gone to think that if this has an effect on some animals, it can also have an effect on humans.

So, is it truly psychic power or just being more in tune to the earth? A way for God to get our attention?

I believe it is a way for God to get our attention to earthly events; He blessed some of us with the capability to feel this, just like our animal friends.

I pray it is not going to be used by the wrong hands, as this would be tantamount to torture.

Mood Alert-September 8th-9th, 2010

Once again New Moon forces will be dominant with forceful and powerful emotions. These may tend to aggressive or belligerent moods and feelings with the risk of contentious encounters, arguments and volatile expression. At the same time there may be an abundance of strong nervous restlessness and energy that may be difficult to control or utilise to good effect.

Today sees a massive alignment of the Moon and Saturn, both of which will be in opposition to Uranus and Jupiter. This is likely to create a wide spectrum of moods and emotions. In particular there will be the restrained and calculated nature of Saturn, with its more demure, restricted, and limited emotional range, with the likelihood of depressive, or pessimistic moods and feelings laden with insecurity and doubt.

Balancing this will be the joy and exuberance of Jupiter with its generous, humorous, and expansive nature, as well as an exaggerated sense of adventure that may tend to reckless activity of an extreme nature.

Then again the bizarre and out of the ordinary characteristics of Uranus will ensure that moods will tend towards extreme or unusual circumstances with the possibility of friction and agitation within the family setting. Indeed any Moon/Uranus alignment has the potential for crisis, with challenging moods and circumstances that can be out of the top category of mood unsettling forces.

This period also sees the beginning of the opposition between Mercury and Neptune. This will be influential for just over a week and likely mood traits include sensitive and easily disturbed emotions with a tendency to confused or absent-minded thinking with vague fears and imaginings. There may also be a subtlety of feeling with intuitive, refined and idealistic emotions with a high degree of creative ability.

All in all this is a vibrant and complex period with contrasting feelings that for some could prove difficult. On the other hand it offers quite definite energy to see and experience things in a unique way that may open doors to new thoughts and ideas.

Alert is 8. Moon 0% illuminated.

It should also be remembered that we are still very much under he influence of the Uranus/Jupiter alignment. This is an extremely slow moving alignment that will be with us for the rest of the year, and occurs only once every 14 years. Likely mood traits include a strong deviation from the norm with the possibility of highly original, creative thought and ideas with eccentric and out of character emotions and feelings.

Unfortunately this may also include drastic and extremely anti-social  compensation for personal inadequacies leading to extreme events and happenings

Because this alignment is so very slow moving many of its traits and inclinations will be absorbed and taken for granted, but they will still be present and will add considerable variety to the months ahead.

Both Jupiter and Uranus are also in opposition to Saturn. Since April this has created a disciplined but formative period of growth with reasoned, inspired, but controlled effort and persistence. This is likely to give rise to highly original ideas and present opportunities that may not otherwise have arisen. As such this will have important implications for the world of science and technology, as well as opening awareness to religious and philosophical impulses that may previously have been ignored.

Meanwhile the effects of Saturn and Uranus upon one another will likely tend to alternating moods that vary between depressive and nervously tensed emotions within a very short time. This may also bring out a tendency to egotism and cruelty.

Naturally this alignment will also be cross influenced by other alignments to distort, enhance, or lower its effects, but to some extent the background element of its effects will remain until the 22nd of September when this alignment finally dissipates.

Increased earthquake activity follows massive planetary alignment.

The massive planetary alignment earlier this month that saw an almost unprecedented situation of all the planets of the Solar System in some way aligned with the Earth, seems to have sparked intense seismic activity. This is of course just what you would expect and what we have observed on dozens of other occasions; namely that planetary alignments do result in a corresponding rise in earthquake activity.

Below is a list of a remarkable number of powerful earthquakes within the last three weeks or so. Due to their remote location almost none of these made headlines, and there was little if any damage, or loss of life.

The fact is that if either one of these tremblors had occurred close to a major centre of population in a so called third world nation the casualty figures would have been enormous. As it was they just passed off as peacefully and unnoticed as any earthquake of this magnitude can do.

List of major earthquakes.

Why So Many Earthquakes? Maybe The Norse End Of The World Will Beat The Mayans

By Hank Campbell

The End of the World seems to roll around every decade or so.   The last time it got a lot of press was the year 2000 A.D., a millenial event in the Gregorian calendar.   COBOL programmers were the convenient catalyst for all that, since banks would shut down due to legacy software, but the end of the world needs vassals, the more unwitting the better, so it made sense that COBOL folks would take the fall.

Next up is 2012, this time due to one Meso-American calendar, and some speculation has been that the LHC will cause it, unleashing an army of Strangelets led by ancient Mayan overlords.

But then a rash of earthquakes happened more recently, and I postulate that the Mayans are in danger of being beaten out of End of the World honors by … the Norse.   Yet the Norse aren’t  getting much credit yet and I intend to change that.

Ancient astronomy

Astronomy has always been the sweet physical science, where everyone can have a meaningful impact regardless of position or funding.   Urbain Jean Joseph Le Verrier discovered Neptune “with the point of his pen”  and amateur astronomer Anthony Wesley of Canberra, Australia discovered a huge impact on Jupiter while NASA employees apparently drank coffee and griped about funding.

Good astronomy goes back a lot farther than that.   The Mayans were keen fans of astronomy and darn good at it, since they were able to calculate a winter solstice some 2300 years in the future.   The Norse understood it was well.

First, let’s talk about our planetary motion.   Earth makes three different kinds of motion in space:  The planet rotates around its axis, basically an imaginary pole but you get the idea, and that takes about 24 hours; it revolves around the Sun, which takes a bit over 365 days; and finally precession, which is the gradual turning of the Earth’s axis and takes around 26,000 years.

What does that mean?   The Earth’s axis essentially traces out a cone and it does so because, as Newton showed us, our planet is an oblate spheroid (it bulges out at the Equator rather than being uniform) and gets torque applied by both the Sun and the Moon.

This ‘precession of the equinoxes’ is attributed to the Greek astronomer Hipparchus around 150 B.C. but both the Norse and the Mayans seem to have known about it, even if they didn’t quite know what to call it.

How so?

There is actual science in the Zodiac

The Zodiac gets a bad rap today because kooks choosing to live their lives by it make people think the kookiness came first but there is a reason it made the universe sane for ancient civilizations.

Because the Earth is essentially ‘wobbling’ due to its irregular shape, even ancient astronomers noticed that the constellations in the Zodiac seemed to be moving (precessing) – to make sense of chaos they decided to break this precession into 12 periods, obviously based on the Zodiac they could see and the Constellation that the sun ‘rose’ in on the first day of Spring got the first honors;  Pisces.  So mankind has been in the Age of Pisces as the planet slowly wobbled around its axis.

But this wobbling takes around 26,000 years and there are 12 constellations in the Zodiac.   Every 2,160 years, they surmised, the Sun will appear to be 1/12th of its way through the Zodiac.   If Hipparchus was 150 B.C. then the Age of Pisces would become the Age of Aquarius(2) in …

… 2010.

Yep, the planet is wobbling, we’re entering a new Age and earthquakes are happening.  Coincidence?   Not if you are reading this article.

We know some people believe that the Mayans predicted the end of the world because one of their calendars, based on precession,  ends on the Winter Solstice in 2012 – and we have to give them credit for being able to even calculate the Winter Solstice in 2012 – but 13 was a magic number to Mayans so it seems more likely that instead of going beyond 13 they would just have started over.

The Norse were a lot more serious.   They blew up stuff when Ages ended.

Ragnarok

The Norse were no dummies either.  Millenia ago they knew that strange things were happening on a macro scale.   When the Sun seemed to rise in the constellation at the Equinox positions, it was always the first day of Spring or Fall. When the Sun appeared to rise in the constellation of the Solstice, it was the first day of Summer or Winter.

And they also calculated that these Ages were changing every 2160 years – the Celestial Axis was represented by Yggdrasill, a huge ash tree in Asgard, where the Gods lived.    It was the one thing that never seemed to die, even though everything else would in those transitions between Ages they called Ragnarok.

In Ragnarok, basically everything would be destroyed; by fiery explosions from the ground bringing clouds of death, by earthquake or, if you were really, really cool, by a giant serpent named Jörmungandr.

Except we will all only be mostly dead.

In Gylfaginning, chapter 52, Gangleri asks, “What will be after heaven and earth and the whole world are burned? All the gods will be dead, together with the Einherjar and the whole of mankind. Didn’t you say earlier that each person will live in some world throughout all ages?”

Indeed we would.   We might not look the same in this new Age.  Instead of blonde, I might be red-headed and have a much larger beard for example.  I might wear gloves.  Hard to say.

How does all that relate to earthquakes?   There has long been this fascinating idea with harmonic convergence, which basically says that planetary alignment will cause earthquakes, volcano eruptions – basically a whole bunch of what has been in the news this year.

Far be it from me to naysay the power of gravity.  Planets are big and we know walking outside every day that Earth is being impacted by both gravity and the tidal force of the moon; gravity simply pulling on us and tidal force trying to ‘stretch’ us and making waves, etc.   As Phil Plait, everyone’s favorite Bad Astronomer puts it, a strong enough gravity “could pull the Earth from its orbit, while a strong enough tide could rip it in half.”  But it isn’t happening because some planets are on the same side of the Sun, which actually happens fairly often.

The last time people were terribly worried about harmonic convergence was the same year everyone was worried about COBOL programmers; 2000.  And we’re still here.  Basically, you shouldn’t get your science from astrologers or psychics.

So back to 2010 versus 2012.   The Norse were as cagey on this one as the Mayans because a lot is left up to interpretation and translation of ancient symbols is an imperfect science.    If, as some scholars claim, the last Age ended 2160 years ago, the Norse will beat out the Mayans for World-Ending honors by killing us all this year – if you like your paranoid conspiracy tales and 2012 is too long to wait, that is pretty good reasoning to party now.

But other scholars claim that the last Ragnarok only occurred 2010 years ago – stating that Asgard on fire heralding in a new ‘Age’ of Gods in the last Ragnarok was the Star of Bethlehem(3), which means that we have another 150 years to wait.

What do you think?

I think one way or the other, those who predict the End of the World will eventually be right.   After all, if the Norse or Mayans don’t get us, maybe the Sumerians will.
