Hard at work, or hardly working?

I have been very busy with my college classes and all this other real life…junk. Anyhow, I have a big blog entry planned, but my normal readers probably won’t like this at all lol. I have become a bit of a makeup junkie, so I am going to do a blog post on all the cosmetics I feel are good deals, good for women like me who are very pale (NW20 for reference). I have tried every product you can imagine (Urban Decay, Too Faced, Clinique, Chanel, Dior…you name it) and will try to give my recommendations to those pale ladies with blue eyes and warm skin tone. Right now, I love the beauty balms (Dr. Jart, Boscia) instead of any kind of foundation because it is light and easy to use. I know that many people are not interested in this, so please skip over it and laugh at me hysterically. Cosmetics does not equate to stupidity, in case your mind might wander that way.

Anyhow, that is what is planned.

Just a bit of an update

This heat is making me absolutely insane. I was expecting it to be warmer down here (after all, it is the South) but I was not expecting anything quite like this. We have been breaking records right and left recently here in Arkansas. I can tell you, coming from Canada, I do not exactly appreciate heat indices near 130 degrees. Sigh. It is making life miserable; nature has always been my solace, but it is impossible to find that solace with these sorts of temperatures.

I am going to be taking classes at the local community college, though, to entertain my mind this Fall semester. They are all online classes, with so much going on here. Taking an English class, Astronomy, and Political Science for fun. To kinda get into it again.

I took a test to get into the nursing portion of the school. Nursing classes start in January. I did very well on the admission tests; I scored well above what is required to get in. It is, however, very competitive and I will not know until next week if I have been admitted to the program. I hope that it happens.

Take it easy out there…tis a scorcher.

Major Drop in Solar Activity Predicted

Okay, so I don’t post on here very often…but I find this article extremely relevant. The ramifications could be frightening, IMO. Odd to find this from NASA. You really need to read this and understand what it is saying. Here are some highlights:

A missing jet stream, fading spots, and slower activity near the poles say that our Sun is heading for a rest period even as it is acting up for the first time in years, according to scientists at the National Solar Observatory (NSO) and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).

An immediate question is whether this slowdown presages a second Maunder Minimum, a 70-year period with virtually no sunspots during 1645-1715.

All three of these lines of research to point to the familiar sunspot cycle shutting down for a while.

“If we are right,” Hill concluded, “this could be the last solar maximum we’ll see for a few decades. That would affect everything from space exploration to Earth’s climate.”

This could have serious implications for climate, EQ’s, volcanoes, etc.

Might want to keep these things in mind for the future.

An Ode To My Chanel No 5 Bath Gel

Oh, how I will miss you. You made me feel luxurious. You were given to me as a Christmas gift by my beloved. Whatever will I do with you gone now? How will life ever be the same? Oh, certainly I can go and buy a cheap and inferior version at Bath and Body Works, it can never be the same. It would be like a cheap, illicit affair. But I must do this. I loved you, Chanel No 5, but life must go on. There ARE cheaper versions of you out there, somewhere. Perhaps some other aromatic fragrance can catch my senses. This is a very painful goodbye, alas, it must be. Please remember me.
